Mikes Story

I started my career as a linesman for NZ Post Office in 1977 which was followed by 11 years working for Computer Cable Services the first independent cabling company in Wellington, back in 1988. This was followed by a stint (17 years) working for AMP Inc. (subsequently Tyco Electronics/ TE Connectivity) in the “vendor world”. The last 10 years I have been with Torque IP (Independent Technology Advisors) operating in the consultancy space.

Through my career I have been involved with Telecommunications Educational and Skills Standards Organisation (TESSO), Standards NZ (CT-001), Chair of BICSI NZ, BICSI RCDD (retired) and Board Member. I now volunteer with CIANZ to focus squarely on the NZ cabling community and associated industries.

My current role in CIANZ is Secretary reporting to the chair and our excellent and dedicated committee.

Why CIANZ?  It's about having an NZ industry association committed to the betterment of our local industry. CIANZ embodies our collective efforts to uplift the industry we all care about, giving everyone a voice and contributing to our industry's growth and success.
