I, Mike Crawford, am honored to commit as Chairperson of the Cabling Industry Association of New Zealand Inc. With over 30 years in telecommunications and IT, I am passionate about advancing our field's standards and practices.  I will leverage my expertise to contribute effectively to the board’s decisions, upholding transparency, accountability, and integrity. I will work diligently with fellow board members to advance CIANZ’s objectives and serve its members' best interests.  ​​

My current role in CIANZ is Secretary reporting to the chair and our excellent and dedicated committee. 

Why CIANZ? - because I want to see an independent NZ qualification that will provide a foundation to greater career development and provide individuals an opportunity to enhance their lives.

My current involvement with CIANZ as a committee and Technical Advisory Group member, stems from strong interest in creating career pathways for school leavers in the cabling infrastructure industry. 

By championing formal education and fostering opportunities in emerging technologies, I envision a bright future for the industry, with increasing demand for skilled professionals to meet evolving communications needs in New Zealand. 

As a Committee member for CIANZ I am responsible for marketing & branding and health & safety and am part of the Technical Advisory Group.

My dream is to see the standard of world class training I experienced in my early career ripple across our industry. By contributing my experience and passion for the industry alongside that of my fellow committee members, I believe CIANZ can make a real difference toward improving the quality of our cabling community

My role in CIANZ is as a dedicated committee member specialising in association compliance.

I believe we need to address the lack of any formal career pathway for structured cabling installers, in order to recruit and retain the talent that underpins all enterprise networks.
