Our Mission

CIANZ provides a medium for the NZ cabling infrastructure industry to unite for the betterment of our sector. We promote positive cultural, social, economic and environmental benefits to our members.

Our Vision

Our vision is for the CIANZ to represent and promote the cabling infrastructure industry at all levels, providing a voice to government, end-users and the wider construction industry. This will be achieved by impartiality, advocating standards development, fostering career development and championing NZQA qualifications appropriate to our industry. The CIANZ will collaborate with parallel industries to link deeper skills and the career development of all members.

Our Primary Objectives ...

Independent qualifications

Address the skills shortage by the delivery of independent qualifications, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), continuous education, and skills development.

Attract new entrants

Address a labour shortage by attracting new entrants into the industry with access to personal qualifications and a diverse career path.

Align with associations

Align and collaborate with parallel associations such as TUANZ, NZ Security Association, BICSI (to name a few).

Promote industry

Promote the benefits of the CIANZ and our members to government, consultant community, construction industry, and end-users.

Independent quality endorsement

Provide an independent quality assurance endorsement (CIANZ stamp of recognition) for CIANZ members to promote within their businesses to their clients and new business opportunities.

Providing a forum for networking and collaboration within the industry while maintaining strict compliance with the Commerce Act
Promoting our industry to end users or potential end users of our services
Working with specifiers to lift minimum standards
Encouraging the lifting of standards for those carrying out installation work
Providing a voice to Government and the wider public on matters affecting the industry
Educating users or potential users
Working with government bodies and industry to provide career pathways and education for those within our industry by supporting the development of independent industry qualifications at appropriate levels within the NZQA framework
Aligning with “AoG Broader Outcomes” by providing positive cultural, social, economic, and environmental benefits
Co-operating with the relevant standards bodies in AUS/NZ and beyond where relevant
Collaborating with adjacent industries as appropriate
